Shin-chon Sul Lung Tang Reviews

My review is primarily for the Bibim Naengmyeon. Korean cold noodles are so addicting during the summer time. Who would have thought noodles purposely made cold would pack so much flavor, but it does with that attractive spicy sauce they lather it with. The texture of the noodle is always bouncy & stretchy (yes they give you scissors so you don't choke yourself haha). It really hits the spot when you want to cool down. My girlfriend got their famous Seolleongtang which I tasted (I approve), but I'd definitely come back for the Naengmyeon. Shin Chon - this place reminds me of what Annandale used to be!

Just dined in here with my family for lunch and it will always be my go to Korean ox tail soup place in nova as they specialize in it. They also have other dishes including Korean pancakes and cold noodles (perfect for hot summer day). Each soup comes with rice and there is lunch and radish for the table. Very delicious and hits the spot whenever I want a warm soup with some noodles, rice, and meat besides getting pho.

4.6/5 I'm so impressed. It still doesn't beat Jinsol Gukbap in LA but it sho' is close! My review is for takeout only*** My brother and I ordered the following: A combination bone broth soup (tripe, thin slices of beef, and knuckle bone), and for me a knuckle bone bone broth soup (dogani). We also got a seafood pancake to share. I'm a HUGE fan of the knuckle bone broth soup! So much collagen and so rich in flavor. It's actually insane. Not only is this a super food for your skin and nails, it's a comfort food for the soul. I highly recommend trying this if you're on the edge about it. My brother enjoyed having everything in his and he finished his bowl clean to the last drop! I forgot to mention he had 2.5 bowls of rice with it too LOL The seafood pancake was SOO good. It was packed with seafood and worth the money. It's so discouraging when places skimp out on the seafood with tiny little bits that you can barely see but this place had lots and lots of them. I wish I could have taken a picture but unfortunately my phone camera is broken so that's for another time. Lolll The packaging was the usual takeout style so nothing to complain or praise. Everything came in one piece which is what we want :) In Nova, we have Gombawoo, Yi's, Gomtange, and Sinchon. Sinchon by far beats all of these locations so don't hesitate and give it a try!

Authentic and delicious chill Korean restaurant specializing in sul lang tang. If you are new do not forget to salt your soup to taste and mix well. I accidentally oversalted my soup and it still tasted delicious so that's how you know it is good. The broth was so full that it was coating the back of the spoon. The seafood pancake was a bit on the crispier side if you are into that.

Nestled in the heart of Annandale, Virginia, Shin Chon Seullongtang is a haven for Korean food enthusiasts seeking authentic flavors and hearty comfort. My recent visit delivered pure Seoul-ful satisfaction, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating. The undisputed star of the show is their namesake dish, the seollongtang ox bone soup. This milky white broth, simmered for hours with ox bones and vegetables, is a symphony of richness and subtlety. Each spoonful is a warm hug from the inside out, the delicate flavors lingering long after the last drop. This is a must-order. While the seollongtang soared, the braised short ribs galbijjim fell slightly short of expectations. I yearned for a thick, spicy, sauce-laden masterpiece, but what arrived was more akin to a thick soup. The flavor was pleasant, but lacked the punch I crave in a galbijjim. But fear not, for the seafood pancake redeemed any culinary disappointment. This behemoth of a pancake was packed with fresh seafood and vegetables, its exterior boasting a delightful crispness that yielded to a soft, savory interior. Each bite was a delightful explosion of textures and flavors, a testament to the kitchen's skill. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Shin Chon Seullongtang is undeniably Korean. The bustling energy, the cheerful chatter in Korean, and the unpretentious décor transport you straight to the streets of Seoul. This is a place where authenticity is not just a tagline, it's the lifeblood of the restaurant. Shin Chon Seullongtang is not just a restaurant; it's a portal to Korea. While the galbijjim might have missed the mark, the seollongtang and seafood pancake are absolute must-tries. And the authentic atmosphere ensures an experience that goes beyond the plate. So, if you're craving a taste of Seoul without the plane ticket, make your way to Shin Chon Seullongtang. You won't be disappointed Come hungry! The portions are generous, and you'll want to savor every bite. And don't forget to ask for kimchi and other banchan (side dishes) to complete your Korean feast.

Met up with some friends and one of them actually recommended this place to us. Especially with this chilly winter, the only thing I want is hot soup. The store itself is cozy and when you walk in you can already smell how good it will be. The staff were friendly and straightforward. We all got the seullongtang and a barley tea. The soup itself was so milky and soothing. They were generous with the beef as I also enjoy how you can customize it to your own liking, they bring out salt and a container of scallions to add to your soup. Personally I added hella green onions and found that a spoon and a half of salt was perfect! They also bring out kimchi and a bowl of rice to enjoy together. The soup itself has noodles in it but once you slurp those up, I like to dunk my rice in the broth.

I wish I could gatekeep this restaurant, but it would be totally selfish of me. One of my favorite Korean foods is sullungtang, so when I saw that there was a restaurant that specializes in it, I had to try it out. The combination sullungtang has an array of meat, tripe, and beef knuckle which is gelatinous in texture and slightly chewy. It's absolutely delicious. If you're not familiar with sullungtang, it will taste super bland, so you salt to taste. They have coarse salt, pepper, and green onions so make it as you'd like it! The kimchi is also delicious which is a must at a sullungtang place. I also got the fried dumplings and the seafood pancake and both were also delicious and shareable. I would highly recommend Shin Chon to the adventurous eater, or to the one who loves comfort food!

Excellent first experience with great food and fast service. Came in a while ago with some friends to eat seolleongtang. Seated immediately, and food came out super quickly. Excellent banchan, which to me says a lot about a restaurant haha. The seolleongtang itself was rich, flavorful, and fresh. I'm usually not a huge fan of it, but it was so well made here I thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend stopping by!

The food is good! I found a piece of foil in my steamed dumplings so didn't really want to eat any more of those after .... The sullentang (ox-tail) was really good. Liked it a lot. The service was fine. The overall ambiance was fine, like a standard restaurant.
